Hello, wanted to share this costume idea since it is getting closer to the time.  It was super easy to make. Hubby actually did it himself while I worked on our other daughters costume. It was made from an old flannel sheet, cut in the pattern of a basket ball. Maybe three hours worth of work. You make a giant ball and then before you close the ends, cut the arm holes and hem them. Then sew a big tube for your little one to be in. Sew that in the middle of the ball. Stuff with what ever you have and then close up the ball around the top and bottom of the tube. We used old plastic grocery bags. We added elastic to the top and bottom of the eye to hold it on her better.
The iris and pupil are made from an old flying disk toy. Kind of like a frizzbee with the middle cut out.
Then we took four pairs of red tights and made the veins coming from her bottom like a tail and then the cap on her head. You just stuff the legs. We cut one pair in half and sewed a third leg on the other pair.
It was a HUGE hit trick or treating. All night long she heard...."Oh my God, she's an eyeball !!!"

Strangely enough it was her idea. No princesses here.

The best part was after the trick or treating was done we stuffed the costume with batting and made a huge Halloween pillow out of it.

I can't wait to have children so I can dress them up in adorably grotesque outfits. Great job, and your kid's adorable!

Hehe, I love this! Very inventive.
By the way, I was curious; is your signature from the musical 'Seussical?'

Thanks guys Smiley
My signature came from the book Horton hatches an egg.

LOOOOVE IT !! One of my favorite books. I do believe that they used it in Seussical however.
Loved that as well. We saw a small production of it while in Germany and it was GREAT. Our Horton spoke with a German accent. hee hee
