So my mom and I made these cakes for my brothers wedding. We made both the bride and grooms cake.  We felt these were our best wedding cakes yet.  The only thing is some felt we out shined the brides cake with the grooms cake. What do you think?

Together

The grooms cake is a quadruple chocolate cake with a strawberry filling and covered with chocolate buttercream. It's decorated with chocolate buttercream and chocolate chips, strawberries on the top and chocolate curls with chocolate syrup dripping down.

The brides cake was a basic butter yellow cake with a buttercream filling and covered with buttercream. It's decorated with buttercream piping painted with edible gold paint.

I would love to hear what you think. Was the bride out shined? Which you like?  Oh! and this is what the bride and groom asked for.  They eached picked out their own cake.  And I know if that's what they wanted who cares about anybody else.  But I would love to hear what you think about it.

Thanks for looking!  Grin

I think they compliment each other very well, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the assymetry of the layers on the bride's cake.  Fantastic!

How wonderful! I don't think one out shines the other. I think they go great as a pair.  Grin

They both look delicious, but I love the bride's cake and how the layers stack. Very unusual!

I think that it looks great together because the groom almost always wears a dark tux and the bride a white dress so deffinitly they compliment each other Smiley

I'm seriously drooling here! Those both look soooo good. I can haz cake paweeeze? Grin Anyway, I can't decide if the groom's is more impressive or not. The bride's is taller and I like the off set thing. It also has the topper so....... I still don't know. Smiley They are both amazing and if they liked them then that's what counts anyway. I'm so helpful aren't I? Wink

Really don't understand this thing of having a grooms cake, but I love them both. I actually think that the bride's looks cooler. Cool
