Gorgeous scarf! Congrats on being published, how thrilling. I just love the fact that you made a hooded scarf and eliminated the awful pointiness! I love the color you chose and the stitches. Beautiful work.

The yarn I used was Berroco Peruvia, a single ply aran wool.  The color is even better in person because it has a slight opalesence (sp?) to it.  Very yummy yarn.

My mom hasn't really seen this version yet.  That one is the second one I made.  The first one was made out of Vanna's Choice and didn't drape as well as I wanted.  I'm waiting to get my copy of the book to tell her that it got published.

Awesome!

So, um, I'm about to learn to crochet (actually have a book, yarn, and hook in my bag - meeting my grad school's fiber arts group for lunch Grin), and I'm wondering - how hard is this project? I'm not thinking for my first, obviously, but I've been needing a hooded scarf for a while, so knowing this was somewhere on the horizon would be neat.
