Made a Kumihimo disk last night.Just found this technique and I love it!I made a template to share.I ran 4 pieces of fun foam through my zyron machine then stuck them together,I tried craft glue but it wouldn't stick Angry I think you can get fun foam with adhesive already on it or thick fun foam at Micheals, but I couldn't wait to go to the store so I improvised Grin

here is the template.I printed mine at 5in diameter, glue this to the top of the foam

Then I cut it out with a x-acto knife

Ready to braid

Here it comes

What a great idea to glue four foam disks together!

I always use cardboard and that is not sturdy enough for so many slits which sometimes is a pity.

Thank you for sharing this!

There's another post about Kumihimo cords and braids:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=170388.0

and it inspired me to buy a bunch of stuff to try it. I even bought some of the extra thick foam to make my own disk. But, I haven't done it yet Tongue

You have rekindled my desire to give this a go! And, now that I have a disk pattern, I am one step closer to actually doing it Wink

Thanks a bunch!

Just so you know, I have this bookmarked. I've thought about buying a disc several times when I've seen then, but making my own is even better.  Thank you!
