Yeah...the hoody is at least loosely inspired by the flying monkey costume from the movie - were I any good at direct translations of anything I'd be working for the UN Wink

Here's a pic of the full front with my son in it.  He wants one now too.

It was a spur of the moment flash of inspiration that came to me at the fabric store to make it so when I was buying I was going by my memory image of the costume and not the real deal.  I completely forgot about the white bits which would have made it more obviously flying monkey-esque.  I'd never really worked with polar fleece before this project.  It was very forgiving in ways I hadn't imagined and unforgiving in ways I thought I had covered.  I think next time I choose to applique fleece to fleece I'll use quilter's spray adhesive or something to stabilize it.  If you lot have any suggestions in that capacity, I would appreciate them!

Very, very cool, and how original, fantastic job!

Hmm...for some reason I quit getting message from this thread and had no idea all of this was going on. I just went back to work (part-time) after being out of the swing of things for a few  years, so my schedule's been wonky and I haven't had the luxury of browsing Craftsters like I used to. Sad

Anyway, I finally realized I should answer the posts in one message instead of posting a bunch, sorry about that.

Merchita & elliemom: I love the picnic set, how ingenious! I think the plastic utensils was a great idea because who wants to have to worry about keeping track of real ones when you're out and about like that. Plus, it made the package that much more lighter, so out of practicality came genius. And the bag, that rainbow fabric is perfect. The ruby slippers are ADORABLE, I want a pair! The jewelry is perfect, and the purse...fantastic! I love that it's reversible, how clever! What wonderful packages, you two!

GrannysAnnie: Again, genius on the Scrabble pillows, I just might have to make a pair! And yet another great bag, I bet it gets a ton of use, love the little ruby-red. Your poly art is OZsome, what a lucky partner!

Everyone is putting great packages together. Quilt! Scrabble tile pillows!

Just to let everyone know... I have not fallen off the edge of the planet into the abyss. Although I feel a bit that way. Sinus infection is finally clearing. It's been a rough year for me and Craftster is my, one of my, grounding force. Hate to think of where I'd be without ya'll. I feel like I have about 10 brain cells left and they aren't firing in sync. It's not easy to type with tears in ones eyes.

Dawt, whyme, I'm embarrassed at how long it is taking me to get this package together. If you don't have it by Christmas feel free to send the flying monkeys after me.

I can be pretty flaky...
But I'm not a total flake. I give a pretty good imitation sometimes...
You definitely should post what you made.
