I saw a post from months ago about Brevard County, so I thought I'd start a new one.

I am a college student who lives in B.C. and I knit, sew, craft, thrift, create. I have boxes of material and clothes to reconstruct and I'm always thinking, "Wow, it would be nice to have a second, third, or more opinion of what I can do with this...."

I just started knitting and meet with a friend at the Merritt Island Barnes and Noble once a week. Other than that, I know a couple of artists in the area and a cluster of musicians, but no crafters.

Anyone interested in brainstorming, thrifting, making things in the area? Where are you hiding, crafty brevardians?

I would be interested in starting something!  I'm in the Cocoa/Rockledge area and I mostly bead and do jewelry type stuff, but I dabble in almost everything else (other than knitting/crochet...I've never been able to catch on to it!)

I know that All Strung Out in Cocoa Beach has Tuesday night bead nights and Wednesday (I think) knitting/crochet nights, I just never seem to be able to make it out there!

HOLY CRAP!  My DNA bracelet was selected for Best of Craftster 2008!!  And it took me 21 days to figure it out!

Maybe we can come up with something that everyone is into. Buckeye, maybe we can collaberate and start a project-a-month kind of thing?

Eliza, good luck finding a group. I posted here because I don't know of any other craft groups in the area. I understand safety issues and the internet- let me know if you are interested. If not, good luck starting a group.
