There is a place on the Etsy board where you can post your milestones, but not one for us non-etsy sellers. I just wanted to share that I got my first order from my website today!

Congratulations! Now here's a few questions for you:

Did you try to ask the person how they found you (if you didn't already know)?

And once the sale is complete, are you:
Going to ask if you could put them on your mailing list (even if you don't have one now, you need to start collecting names right away), and
Ask them to write a few quotable words about their shopping experience and product they receive?

A self-employed slug's work is never done!

Well, I know how she found me, we're both active in the animal welfare community in our area, so I have seen her at pet store protests and on the online forum, and I have just recently bought Petlane products from her. Those are some great tips for after-the-sale!

Nice one. I've had 2 orders off my website, but both from fairly close friends (I went to 6th Form College with them) My next milestone will be when someone I don't know buys something - I know I will be grinning all day when that happens  Cheesy

Craftychef, that sounds like something my mom would like. She likes a "wallet on a string"  Cheesy

First sale is signed, sealed, delivered! And, when my customer came to pick up her purchase, I was doing my volunteer work, and my fellow volunteer wanted a bracelet, too. She liked it so much she just called to order a custom one for her daughter! Woo-hoo! I read on a blog that it's a good idea to carry some of your products with you, because you can make sales on the fly, and I definitely agree with that.

Some folks around here have sold the earrings right out of their ears!

Wallet on a string - good one! Mostly I've been carrying a tiny card wallet. I don't carry cash or anything anymore, just throw it in a pocket and I'm good to go!

Uh... someone just got a tattoo of a plush cat he bought from me! *faint!*  I think that's a pretty hefty milestone!  Sure is going to make me post all my plush on etsy in the coming weeks!  Cheesy
