so...my boyfriend wants to be dr. horrible for halloween, and he wanted me to be penny, but she is really kind of boring and wears just...plain clothes...I'm so not a penny =) I'm more of a captain hammer  Tongue so I decided to be him for halloween instead (if you have no idea what I'm talking about, you should watch Dr. Horrible!! It's awesome!!!) But anyways, I wanted to girl-ify the captain hammer costume, so...my first step was to make a cargo skirt...because he always wears cargo pants...anyway, here's what I came up with:

here are the pants before:

the back:

so...Captain Hammer's pants are dark brown/blackish, so I'm going to attempt to dye this skirt, I'll post pics of the result...anyway, on to the shirt!
I had this black t shirt, so I basically just painted the captain hammer logo on it, which looks like this by the way:

so...here's my shirt:

close up of image:

and...um...oh! Here's the whole thing...I'm also wearing motorcycle boots but you can't really see them...

^excuse the strange facial expressions

and this is the actual captain hammer (nathan fillion) so...you can compare =) I still need to get giant gloves though  Grin

anyway...sorry for the looong and rambly post and all the pictures...hope you like it...tell me what you think!

Hooray for Dr Horrible fans!   Cheesy I like the idea of a girly Captain Hammer!  You need the gloves, though, definitely.

I love Dr. Horrible!  Your costume is great! And I second the needing gloves statement.

For the gloves, I would try to find some black leather or even fabric (cheaper) gloves and then make a gauntlet sleeve to add on.  I checked prices on real leather bikers gauntlets and they are expensive - up to the $100.

FUCK YES! lol I love Dr Horrible!!!
I totally wanna see pics of your boy toy's costume if he's Dr Horrible himself! Whether or not you make the costume.
I wanted to be a Dr. Horrible character for Halloween, but no one really knows that movie around here but my family...So I guess I'm stuck with a Zombie Disney Princess ((ohhh the entertainment!))
