After I posted some pictures and tips about this last year, I was asked to write an article for CRAFT magazine, which just posted the completed article yesterday. My original project had zippers, but I found that Velcro was easier, so I've removed the pictures I had here that showed the zippers.
Click HERE to go to the CRAFT article, which includes downloadable templates. I've also made a spaceship version with planets inside. I will post pictures of that soon.
Thanks again for all the wonderful comments here!

That is just awesome! Brilliant! Are the dinosaurs stored inside when it's folded up? I love this idea and you did a great job on it.

Wow, that's really cool. So do you take it along with you when you go places, or does it fold just for storage? Has he played with it? Is he able to fold it up himself, or is that your job?

This is a really great idea and I bet it's a real hit with your son!
Thanks for sharing!
