Thanks so much for the heads-up on the right side. I have googled it and you were right, I found it no problem.
I left work early the day the book arrived but due to one thing and another I haven't been able to start it (one of the reasons being it was a friend of mine's birthday so I made her the "in Bloom" bag. Ooh it was difficult giving it away).
Well today, I'm going to stick on Hairspray the movie and start on my bolero.
I'll post a pic when done (I think it may take me a little longer than 3 days though
)
Thanks so much!

haha I know the feeling! I did the Fit to be Tied clutch for my cousin and it was hard to let it go. Now I need to work on one like it for myself. I can't wait to see your bolero! I have a much bigger appreciation for crochet now that I've done something besides Mary Jane Slippers and scarves lol.
Thanks to everyone for the comments

this looks great! I'm hoping you can help me. This is the first time I've used a pattern like this. How many repeats do you do on the back before you start the arm? The pattern says to "repeat pattern throughout" so, I've been doing the pattern to what I thought would be the length of the back. Now i'm not sure. should I have stopped after the first 9 rows and done the switch, or do I finish the back and then move on to the front? Thanks so much for your help.

The 'repeat pattern' refers to repeating the rows to make each flower pattern complete. So doing rows 2-5 makes a flower complete, and 6-9 is another complete flower [the 2nd sets of flowers sit between the 1st set]. So then work in 10-12 which are repeats of 6-8 and stop there! Go back to the top of the pattern and start doing the front 2 panels [right and left]. Coz once you then finish those you get the 'top half' of the bolero, and then you'll continue it - the Body - by joining up the right-back-left.
