made my daughter a bookbag, both she and I love it. it has magnetic closures because i wanted it to be easy for her to open & close it ( she's 5 ) and it's elastic in the front so it keepks the stuff from falling out. the front has a kangaroo pockets for tissues and such. and best off all, the shoulder straps are soft cotton and padded, since the biggest complaint of store-bought bookbags is how much they hurt her shoulders.

i didn't use a pattern, just went along with it after a rough sketch of main ideas.
Embarrassed the bow is still pinned on, i'll sew it on eventually.

thanks everyone.

i couldn't find the print i originally had in mind, i really had my heart set on lime green solid, and a pattern print of lime green and hot pink.

but i'm kind of glad she's not all pink, like she usually is.
