I am American, but my father's father was Swiss. I have lots of family still in Switzerland. I haven't been there since '93, though!   Cry  Would love to hear from someone there, as I miss it terribly!
Glad to see folks from all over Europe here, though! Sorry my Schweitzer-Deutsch is very rusty.....I understand more than I can speak!

I'm a Canadian, but my father is also Swiss, and I lived in Basel for two years (1996-1998)...I loved it...unfortunately all my family in der Schweiz are recently deceased, but I still have some friends there...The last time I was there was in 2002...but I so want to go back. Just thought I would share that. Nice to see that there are others that are proud to be Swiss!

Hi Nessagurl!
Wow! didn't think I'd get a response so soon! I'm so jealous that you got to live in Schweiz for 2 yrs! Lucky you! I really should have done that myself while I was still a single gal. Oh well....
Where in Canada are you? I'm in Rochester, NY........just 4 hrs. from Toronto by car. (And, gee, if they'd ever get their acts together on the CATS ferry, we could get there faster! LOL!)
Anyway, it's great that you've got friends there. It makes you feel so much more connected to a place. Everytime I'm able to get there, I feel as if I'm "home".

Sali Sewlittletime,

I am Swiss. I live in a small town near Zurich. It's funny that you are from Canada, because my boyfriend and I so wanted to go to Canada this summer, but it - especially the flight - is just too expensive, so we probably have to wait for another year before we can go...

I am looking forward to see whether there are any other Swiss gals around?

Hi Alexandra!
I'm actually South of Canada, across lake Ontario, in Rochester, NY. My Grandfather was born in a  town near Zurich.......can't remember the name of it......Uster?? Something like that!! My memory isn't working at the moment! He came to America when he was just 19 yrs. old, as his step-brother and step-sister were already here. Sadly, he was never able to get back to Switzerland. He simply didn't have the money to do so.
I know what you mean about the expense of getting overseas. We had a son a year after our last trip, and now have another son. Too expensive for the 4 of us to go overseas right now!

It's actually an old post, but I decided to write anyway...

I'm from Switzerland, currently living in Zurich. I really like to live here, there's a lot of things you can do. But it's also rather expensive :-(

Would be fun to find out how many craftsters are Swiss.

I'm not Swiss either (originally for the Netherlands), but I have just moved to Zrich. Does that qualify as being (a bit) Swiss?
O, and Roonika, do you know of any good craft supply stores in Zurich?

Where there's a wall, there's a wheeee!

My very own wist-list
