I think I'm going to try to make this sweater and add the sleevey things from Stitch 'n' Bitch's Ultra Femme for extra coverage. I work at my LYS Saturday and I'll check out the selection of cotton (mostly dk weight, but we might have some worsted.) Maybe I'll try it out with some cheap acrylic since I have yet to successfully create a fitted garment successfully...

Wish me luck, guys!

Great advice piyolet! I was sad to hear about the vine lace bind off tragedy! But I am confused, was it the binding off or casting on?
.....but I never bound off lace before, and so I pulled all the binding sitches as tight as I could, and didn't notice how stupid this was until it was too late. The neckline hole is about six inches in circumference. I don't think I can fix it, either....I'm chalking it up to experience.=)
So I am asuming that myloveasdeep just continued the lace all the way with no stockinette?

Well, casting on went fine, it was binding off the top that I messed up. I did finish in stockinette actually, but I used size 13 circulars so it was sort of lacy stockinette, and I didn't bind off at the tension for that yarn combo...THANK YOU for all the advice! I will tackle it again when I get home from break! I don't mind telling you it broke my spirit good and proper when I realized what I'd done...it was my second knitting attempt ever and a lot of love went into it. I will fix it and show you!

Her dirty paws and furry coat,
She ran down the forest slope.
The forest of talking trees,
They used to sing about the birds and the bees.
The bees had declared a war,
The sky wasn't big enough for them all.

I love this!!!
Ive never been one to wear a sleeveless top though... I think I would do the add ribbon or make little cap sleeves option..
I am mathematically challenged- so I have no idea how many stitches I would need to cast on with...  I'm guessing I would need a "small" as I am a small 32-34B an 5'6" tall....  A little help?

;DI started on this last night!  I am one time through the lace pattern.  Hoping it will shape up some, it looks a little weird yet...  Do you block "wool ease"? maybe that will help it...

Don't worry, Kaitlyn had the same problem and she said that the blocking made a BIG difference. Sometimes you gotta get all tough-love on your yarn, show it whose boss and block the bejesus out of it. It usually wields to your machismo.

Hey there! I made this sweater after drooling over yours on this thread. I used some hand dyed wool from www.woolsoup.com and the size medium pattern. I didn't put in the ribbon yet, but I think I definitely will.
