I'm not quite sure where to start looking for help with this one...

I saw a few weeks ago a quilt in the background of a magazine shot. It was a very simple two colour log cabin design but what made it stand out was that the log cabin was slightly twisted, slightly skewed as it rotated out.

I'm not sure if anyone will be able to understand what I'm trying to find with such a n00bs description, but if anyone can help me find instructions, or even just give me some tips on how to do a wonky log cabin, I'd be very appreciative.
This quilt block has been stuck in my head for a good two weeks now, and I reckon if I start now I can get it finished by Christmas for a present.

Thanks!

Hello! Did it look like the quilt at the bottom of this page or did it look more like this? Those are the two versions that spring to mind....

Once I have a better idea of exactly which log cabin variation you have in mind, I'll see if I can scrounge up patterns/instructions for you.  Smiley

sounds like you might have seen Denyse Schmidt's drunk love in a log cabin quilt.  i have a wonky log cabin block tutorial on my blog.  it's www.tallgrassprairiestudio.blogspot.com...just look in the right sidebar and click on it.  you can vary how you do the wonkiness so it looks like you describe.  hope this works for you.
