I looooove Dr. Horrible, so of course I wanted to stitch something inspired by it. I chose a phrase from my favorite song, Brand New Day - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mU1i1gNaYqg - and used a blackwork book I got recently to come up with the design. Hope you like it!

If you've never heard of Dr. Horrible's sing-along blog, check it out here - http://www.drhorrible.com/ - so good. Smiley

Oh yeah. I watched the film (for lack of a better word) online. It was fun. I want to buy it when I have some extra cash. Wonderful cross stitch!

Haha, awesome. That's one of my favourite songs from it, too!

It's a brand new day, and the sun is high, all the birds are singing that you're gonna die, how I hesitated, now I wonder why, it's a brand new day!

(My god I have watched that too many times.)

Most excellent.  Also, a classier quote choice than "The hammer is my penis," which is what I would have gone with, were I stitcherally inclined.

Out of all of the fantastically hilarious lines in Dr Horrible, "The hammer is my penis" is one of the best. Other good ones are "So make the Bad Horse gleeful, or he'll make you his mare!", "The status is not quo", and my personal favourite, "...So we can get them off the streets and into job training, so they can buy rocket packs, and go to the moon, and become florists."

Brand New Day is only my second-favourite song because Joss wrote Bad Horse's Letter  Tongue  I love the blackwork, it only makes the text more unexpected, like the original song.

Somebody, anybody, has to sew "The hammer is my penis" onto something, anything!

I just absolutely love this, completely independent of the fact that I love Dr. Horrible's as well. Love the starkness of the blackwork, and the juxtaposition of old timey stitchery with a modern reference.
