I made this little blue bunny for a friend of mine. It was her birthday a few weeks back so I was able to put him together in a couple of days. He was inspired by pastel drawings done by the birthday girl.

He was made out of Sean Sheep Sensual. His body is basically a tube with little tubes for legs. His head was made separately and then sewn on later. His head was constructed by starting with a knit square and then picking up stitches around the square. I knit in the round and then decreased creating a kind of cone. His ears were knit separately and when I picked up the stitches from the back of his head I pulled those stitches through the ears so they are kind of knitted in.

The birthday girl seemed to love the gift. She promised to wear it in Paris next year when she is there to learn French.

Thanks for looking!

That is very beautiful. It reminds me so much of those fur shawls they used to wear in the 30's that was an actual animal. (see photo below). I thought you had derived it from that before I read you made it based on your friends drawing. Great job!

Thanks everyone!

Hey Romey14- I did of course draw inspiration from animal stoles but it is inspired by her drawings because she does draw a lot of little bunnies. So in that way I thought a bunny more appropriate to her than say a fox. But there is a knitting pattern for a fake knitted fox out there. I think its call Vegan Fox and the pattern is here.  http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall02/PATTveganfox.html
