Here's a bag I made for my friend's bday this Sunday.  I don't know if I'll be able to wait that long to give it to her.  She loves loves loves firefly (the old tv show).  I made everything except the strap, which I purchased at Michael's.

Here is the bag:

And some CUs of the pins I made.  They're resin pendents of the Serenity logo wrapped in felt and beads (used this tut http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=255127.0)  I added one more pin to the front after I took the pictures.

Her favorite quote on the back as an extra pocket.  I ironed the material onto freezer paper and then put it through my inkjet printer.  I used Papyrus font as that is the font they used for the Serenity movie poster.

And when  you open flap:

A look at the inside, lots of pockets for credit cards and license, with bonus naked picture of captain tightpants.

A good look at the cell phone pocket.  Not sure if this was the best spot for it, but it's where the material wanted me to put it.

I just sort of cut and sewed, so there's no pattern.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Oh that's great! I love the pins and the fact that when you open it up you get the dramatic "flash" title. How did you get that image onto the fabric?

I ironed the fabric onto freezer paper, cut it to the size of a piece of paper and put it through my inkjet printer.

I completely swooned over this bag...and that was before the bonus nekkid Mal pic *grins*

The pins are something that I must accomplish. Must.

This blends perfectly into another idea I've been toying with...

Great inspiration here - thank you!

Also - I love the reference list. If I ever craft and post aforementioned idea, I would of course cite you as inspiration...you gave kudos to someone else, who thanked someone else...it's a great chain of inspiration!

*squiggles with delight*
