tablecloth to skirt... with french seams (ooh la la) (not pictured)
and i made it 3 inches too small for my waist, haha. measure twice, lorchick. measure twice.
oh well, i'll write it off as a learning experience.

Cute!  I did the same thing last weekend, I made my daughter this really cute skirt, but I measured her while she was sleeping and made it like 5 inches too small in the waist.  I need to stop all the midnight sewing!  I love how your skirt turned out.

WOW!  What a great idea!  That particular tablecloth made beautiful fabric for your skirt.  (I'm very inspired now.)  Also - I LOVE your asymetrical design.  That's really beautiful.  (As a non-seamstress myself, I wonder:  would it be that terribly difficult to alter it so that you can wear it?  You deserve to after doing such a beautiful job.)

cute! are french seams hard to do? My hubby has some trousers that have one leg needing to be hemmed. It's definitely a french seam and I've never done one before...
