So simply yet so very crafty.  I like the little "dips" in the wire so the cord doesn't slip down.  Looks great.  I bet it smells great when you walk by or touch it...

You are a genius! I am so doing this. I'm moving into a house that has a large bay window that I plan to grow herbs in... can I ask you a question, do you taste a difference in dried herbs/spices that you've grown yourself vs the stuff in the stores or is the big difference really just in the fresh vs dried?

Thanks everyone!

I notice a difference myself, particularly in the fresh basil and sage. The basil I grew tasted (and smelled) a lot stronger.  Storebought mint tasted just as good as the mint I grew- but the mint I grew in windowboxes was a good deal more convenient. ^.^ There's definitely a difference between home dried and store dried that isn't as subtle- home dried herbs (away from sunlight) have a stronger taste, but don't seem as brightly colored.  Just be sure to package them up aright away so they don't pick up any off odours or grease from the kitchen.
