I made this a few years ago for a friend and just unearthed the picture. It's made with 18, 22, and 28 gauge copper wire and beads mostly salvaged from vintage jewelry--glass, jade, carnelian, amethyst, pearl, garnet, and others I'm likely forgetting.


Another style of tiara, which I made for this tutorial in Cerise Magazine (modeled by a very patient friend and her curly blonde wig):


More styles and designs as I get around to unearthing and taking pictures, assuming people are interested...

that is really really cool. i am a tiarra junkie but i have never made one. thanks so much for sharing your tute. im gonna give this a try right now! if it comes out ok can i post a pic here to show you how it turned out? or should i do a separate post. still kinda new to craftster im not sure what the ettiquite is on this kinda thing. :0)

Most of the "skills" that went into making that were very basic wirework--it's really just a matter of practicing enough to be able to improvise with techniques and tricks out of their intended contexts.
