The long awaited tutorial is now available here:

http://www.cindygert.com/2008/09/tutorial-that-i-promised-warning-heavy.html

I was going to do it on here too but it is way to many images to upload.

It is for the grey bag.

Here are some new bags.
Here are all the girls together on my couch.  They are made out of sweaters, leather belts, and leather coats.  Each one of them have a leather bottom.

for the green owl one I have already posted that as "totally frickin' cool owl bag"
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=268111.0

If you look closely you can see an owl perched on the tree.

I have a tute in the making for the grey one with the red flowers.  When(if) I get it done I will post it. Tongue

very nice!!!  gives me inspiration to actually make somrthing out of the pile of felted sweaters I have in the middle of the sewing room.  Do you line them or just do the wool?

Those are GORGEOUS!!! I love the texture, it really shows in the photos.  And I love the owl.  I just found out that owls are popular.  I guess I am getting too old LOL! I used to know these things.

Again, you did an awesome job!

Thank you so much for your comments.  I love them.

If I have said it once I have said it a hundred times........owls rock!!  I am totally hooked on them.  That green bag with the orange owl is my most favorite bag that I have EVER made.  It is so stinkin' cute.... but it is already on here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=268111.0
I could not wait until I had the rest finished to post it.  I have more bags on my website at www.cindygert.com.  Feel free to check'em out and leave a comment!!!!

I only line(interface) them if they have no structure.  I use deco bond. Unless they are really flimsy then I use pellon 70.  I have some new stuff coming in a few days.  I will let you know if it is any good.  Then I will be spreading the word like wild fire.  I think interfacing is the hardest thing to find.

I prefer to find sweaters that have some umpf to them though.  In my opinion........JCre w, Abercrombie and Fitch, and Old Navy sweaters are the best....in that order.  Make sure that you do not use shetland wool.....way too stringy, itchy, yucky, etc., etc., etc.
