cathiphop, the button eyes were made using a cane. I actually made lots of them by slicing the cane, and then chose the best 2 for the monkey. Before I baked them I poked two tiny holes in the pupils, and then sewed them on with black thread just like you would sew on a button. Obviously, they're not child-safe, but since the friend I'm sending Mr. Funky Monkey to is a grown-up I'm not too worried about her sticking the eyes in her mouth! LOL
