I'm on a felt-cake kick these days.

Sorry, guys!  I had to take the tutorial down for now, since it's going to be published in a book this fall.  In the meantime, the book,  Softies: Simple Instructions for 25 Plush Pals, is available for pre-order at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Softies-Simple-Instructions-Plush-Pals/dp/0811856526/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-1100491-2084654?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1185067017&sr=8-1.

Those are so cute!  You should use them to hold love notes or candy or something.  Or maybe to exchange secret notes with spies, that would be even cooler.  Or just put them in the kitchen as decoration because they're cute.

kategirl:  They're just for fun, really.  I made the pink one for this month's "A Month of Softies" Alice in Wonderland revisited theme.  I just had to keep making more after the first one!

madebykris:  I collect play food anyway, so these are just an addition to my obsession collection.  These will definitely go on display!

ILoveBunnies: I'm coming up with patterns for cupcakes and cake slices next!

ilovepaper: I plan on making smaller ones for pincushions.  I'm tired of my tomato pincushion--a cake would be so much more fun!

Thanks for the compliments, everyone!

Oh...those are so cute...I would love one as a pin cushen too...I'm also sick of the typical tomato ones.  Great job...those would also be cute for children to play with. I loved playing with toy food when I was a kid.

great job...Sweet!
