So, I was at my grandmother's house and was digging through all her crafty-things. I came across an old bag with all the makings of three pillows in it. My mom had picked them out and never got a chance to make them...one each for me, my brother and sister.

My mom died 8 years ago and to find something like that still in the bag with receipts...it was insane. I cried. And then I put together the pillows.

I know they're not that well made, but I'm still REALLY attached to them. I'm going to embroider a message on some cloth and tell the story to my brother and sister, probably attaching it with some ribbon to the pillow. I plan on giving them as christmas gifts.

Wow!!! You've done a great job.  Esp. it being your first.  These are going to be such a wonderful gift...and incredible gift on different levels.  What a wonderful way to remember your Mom.  I remember the little bear pic.  I remember yrs ago embroidering them...so sweet.  They were a group of 4 and they bring back such memories.  Thank you for sharing the background.
