Hello everyone!

I'm looking into making a corset for a young woman who is turning 16. (She love the renn fair) Also, I love corsets myself and I've made some vest style corsets(ish) for renn faires. But I've never made one that incuded the boning, or made one that didn't have thick straps.

If I could ask a favor, does anyone have any tutes for corsets with boning that they have made?

Also, if you've made a corset from a pattern that you REALLY liked, could you reccomend a pattern for me?

And if you feel like sharing pics of your fav corsets, that would be mondo helpful. All styles of corsets are under consideration, straps, no straps, lace up on any side, everything. Just as long as it has the boning. Thanks!!

 Grin

Edit to add: Crap, I just realized I put this on the wrong board. Could the wonderful mods, please move it?

Pretty much my favorite feature on this site.

A handy corset tip: you can never over-bone a corset. If you think you need more, go ahead and add another channel. I use industrial zip ties because they are inexpensive and extremely customizable.

Thank you for the tip on the zip ties! I'll look into it.

I actually did a search for corsets and I found some great pics. But the reason I'm asking for this info is because I want peoples' personal opinions on their favorite corset patterns or tutes. The search function doesn't narrow it down like that.

there is this section "Clothing: Discussion and Questions", and there you can find at the top a bolded headline "Making Your Own Corset?" ( http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=8999.0 ). I'm sure you could've found it if you'd looked.. and if you put the words "corset" and "tute" on the search, it will give you this awesome tute that very many of us craftsters have used..

i'm sure this will help you. and really, don't be afraid to try the search-engine. and yes, it is OK to ask.
