wow!  thank you everyone!  It really was a fun cake to bake and decorate.  Thank goodness my mill sent the boys a copy of Yellow Submarine to watch while I decorated.  I would have never gotten it done.

The fondant really was much more forgiving than I thought it would be.  I can't roll a pie crust to save my life, but this rolled out really easily. I wish I had thought to make the icing under the fondant thicker.  I am pretty sure that is one of the trocks for less lumpy fondant. 

The boys are already talking about the next cake....oy!

it's amazing! I've been trying to work up the courage to work with fondant...it just seems so intimidating!!

That is the coolest cake ever made!!  I love the fantastical things you can do with fondant although I have not tried personally.  I am scared of baking.  Anyway, wonderful!   Cheesy
