I really liked the idea of making a guitar strap for your boyfriends, but mine is interested in photography and needs a strap for his camera. I think I could certainly apply your idea to this. Any examples, or really cool ideas on how to make one that looks stellarly awesome?

Do you knit?  A felted strap would be great.  Easy, too.

A knit strap would be really cool. And you don't even need to be a terrific knitter because the felting process will hide any funny looking stitches.

Maybe "card weaving" (I think that's what it is called)? I've never actually tried it myself, but I think it would be pretty easy to teach yourself to do it, and the finished product would look very fancy and professional!
