i know, i know... i posted like, yesterday. but i just made these today and i was uber excited about them, as evidenced by my pictures Grin haha.

this is a new pattern i made... i was making it for someone else, but once i tried on the prototype i was like "OMG BEST FITTING DRESS EVAR" and now i'm keeping it (shh.. don't tell).

INORITE? look at how excited i am!!

when i cut the scoop neck, i forgot to *not* cut the back... so to compensate, i cut it even deeper for a double-scoop effect.

\
the lace yoke is backed with the same blue fabric as the rest of the dress... didn't want things to get too scandalous! oh, the dress is made from some super-slinky dark teal jersey i found for like $3. this was literally all there was. the bottom does not have a band because, well, i ran out of jersey. instead, there is a nice rolled hem in light blue thread.

ok, so here's the next one i made:

i used some gold jersey crap and the yoke is this incredible brown lace that i still have yardages of. i get so excited when i find stuff that matches it, because it's awesome.

backin'

you can tell in this photograph that i hate being photographed. Wink

overall, i'm pretty pumped about this style.
please let me know what you think! Grin

Ahhh, this dress is adorable!! Can you provide a tutorial? And how difficult was it to make? (I haven't made a dress yet). Great job; it looks flawless!

sorry, bb, i don't do tutorials. but i can tell you that it's a simple jersey dress, similar in shape to a well-fitted tshirt, with puff sleeves. the yoke was basically just cut out and then re-attached. it was super easy to make, but i have been sewing for years, so it might not be as easy for other people. the best part is that stretchy material omits the need for zippers and darts. it's very forgiving!

thanks for the comments, everyone! you are very kind Grin

These both look great!! My favorite is the blue (my favorite color  Grin), but the yellow is just as pretty! I love the scoop necks, and the yokes are awesome  Wink Cheesy
