Your piece deserves the lengthy post, no need to apologize.  I enjoy hearing about the whole process when such care and craft went into it.  Amazing that you got it done with little ones around.  The leaf will be fun to find for years to come.

As for the chairs - Remember, a weed is anything you don't want in your garden.  Change your attitude and you don't have any weeds.  From the picture, each chair seemed to match the table.  Smiley

And I apologize to any one who is offended by my comment on weeds.  It's a coping mechanism.

your table is awesome!

these may be silly questions, but how did you get the tiles to stick to the table while you were working on it?  and since you used resin, does that mean that you didn't grout it?

There are no such things as silly questions...
Well, First, I painted the table with one of those primers that sticks to laminate, then drew out the design and used tile adhesive to stick them to the table. I did grout it. The resin's job is to keep the grout from getting too horrible and to give it a clean, flat surface.

Thanks for not being too bored by my lengthy post and for your kind words! About the chairs, I am not offended by mismatched chairs, I just dislike MY chairs... One is plastic and we bought it for another purpose, which it was not suitable for, and after one of our table chairs disintegrated, it became the stand in. It does, however, match the colors of the table very well. I just wish that they were all the same material... I guess that I got to get a woodworking book from the library... craft me some chairs...
