I have pretty much followed the rules (except I don't always use all 5 photos).

I could really appreciate a critique.

MeanBean:  your shop looks good!  Pictures are clear & prices seem more than fair.  It seems lots of people are slow.  Sad

Good luck, just keep listing, that's what I am doing.  For 20 cents you have nothing to lose.   Cheesy

Hey sullengal, I'm in Ohio too, Cleveland.   Cheesy  Your shop looks good, shipping incentive is a good idea too.  Prices are good, and so are photos.  But they say photos are the most important, so use all five.  I sometimes find it really hard to myself, there are only so many angles you can take of a plate, lol.    Cheesy  Good luck!

Thanks!! I really just was surprised at how little traffic my site gets and the only order was from a dear friend. I figured I must be doing something wrong.

Thanks for the input though.

You have to drive traffic to your site, that's the hardest thing.  Blog, twitter, make a fanpage on facebook are a few ideas.  Bidding on alchemy requests is also a good way to get people to view your shop, and hopefully make a sale.  The etsy forums have tons of ideas, you should take a look.   Cheesy

Thanks for the advice. I just recently created a Facebook page. I just don't know how to keep it interesting!!!

I haven't tried the alchemy thing yet. But thanks for the advice.

(And the craftster etsy forums are really negative lately...but that's how I found this thread, so I guess it's a blessing in disguise!)

Thanks again!

I post photos of new things, post links to any treasuries/blogs I might appear in, stuff like that.

The forums on etsy are better than craftster for giving feedback, etc.  And usually they are very supportive!   Cheesy

Well I have to say I generally like craftster better, but so many seem so frustrated with etsy here, that it's hared to wade through.

I'm not going to lie, I've found it hard to get more than a little bogged down in the promotions threads. It's easy to have your thread wisked away in minutes. And there isn't a way to search or set your own threads to notify, which is a bummer.

I'll try checking out the other non-promotional forums.

you may want to try etsyhacks

http://etsyhacks.com/greasemonkey/

I installed a bunch of these.

in the forums it now shows all the sections at the top navigation bar, including "my topics"
under my topics itll list the topics and under the latest post it has "Jump to: last read last page post"
during first use you'll need to page thru the topics to find your posts. but the hack will catch up and have your posts marked.

I find it very useful. doesn't notify but at least makes it easier to go check.

Here is mine: www.lynnaquaheart.e tsy.com

I have worked hard to improve things like the photography and making sure that I have all five pics and all the tags and stuff. I really want to expand my inventory of fine art in the future and add some other accessories like hats and scarves.
