I got a box today from lmcbride jammed packed with yarn!  Now, this is my first time posting pics from my craftster gallery, (as thumbnails, too) so I hope I get it right.  I asked for wool and cottons in coat colors and she sent me a great assortment to match/compliment winter coats (I had an idea to make and sell hats and scarves, but I just don't know if I can get any done, what with work, studying and the 12 days of xmas swap, but I digress)

I grouped the yarn into color groups, and of course my dog Sadie had to claim the pile as her own (she loves piles of soft things, what dog wouldn't?)  She sent me some dpns, too, but they didn't make it into the pics, naughty me.

A big thanks to lmcbride for my new fancy yarn stash--now, how do I get them out of the hank shape and into balls/skein without making knots and tangles?  that happened to me with sari yarn and I am loate to mess up any of this good stuff!  oh yeah, a ball winder or the chair method . . .think i can get the dog to lend me her paws instead of a chair?

Anyone needs yarn, just let me know.  I have tons.  Smiley

Your yarn is really awesome.  I got a great green wool from her in my last swap, and it now lives as the handles of my favorite purse.   Grin

Oh fluffybaka, how the heck did I miss you here?!  Well anyway, Hi! Smiley (fluffybaka makes a mean magic yarn ball!)

I'm a pretty quiet swapper.  I don't post much on the gallery and such.

I gotta get another ball winder! Tongue
Since I'm winding the yarn off of cones and I don't have a ball winder right now, I'm winding them off with the skeining reel.  Then I tie them in four places.  So when you untwist your hank or skein you will have a big circle tied off in four places.  So first put your cirlce over the back of a kitchen chair or something, then snip your ties off, then just start winding into a ball... yes it's a bit tedious, but the chair method helps a lot in keeping down tangles.  I think I'll call my local yarn store right now and see if they can get me a ball winder - unless anyone out there has an extra they'd like to swap?

Stick, I'm so glad you liked everything.  Who knew on the strawberry fabric huh?  I'm headed to the quilting store on Thursday and I will find out the designer/name of the blue/white/tan fabric.  And I only sent you half of what came in the charm pack!  So sometime down the road we will have matching quilts or the like!

Glad you enjoyed!  Happy swapping!
