A friend of the family had been away traveling and when he came back my grandma asked me to make a cake for him. She told me to do whatever I thought would be best so I kind of ran with it.
This is what I came up with.

It's all hand painted fondant to look like an old-school wood suitcase.

The handle is black fondant. I know this picture is kind of dark, but I was really happy with the way the handle turned out.

I just wish I'd made more stickers but I didn't want it to get too crowded.

Just to prove I have entirely too much time on my hands and I've lost my mind, I added little feet. The corners were covered with round pieces of fondant just to give it that finished look.

This is freaking awesome!

Did you use food coloring to paint the fondant? What color was it originally?

I love it!

Thanks!
It was a vanilla cake with just a basic icing under the fondant.
The fondant I died a lighter brown before I covered the cake and then used gel food colouring and vodka to paint the wood texture. The black trimming was all the same colour as the rest of the cake and I painted it black.
