I would appreciate a warning, not that I am offended by much but sometimes my 9 year old craftster-in-training likes to peek over my shoulder while I'm browsing. As it is right now, I only will look at posts that I already know are g-rated and save the rest for 5:00 am when the kids are still sleeping. So, a warning would be nice but it's not something that I couldn't live without.
Thanks Leah!
On another note... the age demographics are all over the place on these boards. I've encountered people from 12 through 55,  *shrugs* go figure.

Leah, I think you have found a great compromise.  I'm not easily offended now but I used to be so coming from both sides, I'd say that with people taking responsibility for their posts and great mods to back it up/fix potential slips would be a fantastic solution.  Yay you for being understanding of art forms and sensitivities.

I think some sort of rating/warning system would be nice, though perhaps not necessarily having it be such a huge part of the message as WARNING: ADULT THEMED.  Frankly, I'd also like to see a warning for gore/blood, as I'm a bit sensitive to it.  Yet the crocheted wombs and penises are not inherently adult-themed (or only adults'd have them, right?).  It's only when the discussion turns to sex that it seems to get iffy.

I'll be interested in seeing how this goes.

Hmmm, it seems like WARNING: ADULT THEMED would take up a large portion of the space alloted to subject headings - would just 'ADULT' be enough?  Like 'ADULT: dirty mittens' for example?

Maybe a special icon just for adult theme'd posts? And the warning seems really fair.. People check craftster alot at work and you don't want to open a page with somebodies brilliant vagina pillow when your coworkers might see ..

I see nothing wrong with a warning title but you have to admit....seeing a title with "ADULT THEME INSIDE" will make me want to check it out even more.  It almost makes it more tempting Wink

Seriously! If a filter can filter the posts out, there should be one to filter them IN. Like, SHOW ME ALL THE PORN! I would totally read those.

Um, anyway, I like the idea of having an icon or a "warning sticker" with adult posts. I'm sure you'll find a good solution Leah. You're the best! Smiley

(not that genitals and other nudity are necessarily pornographic. I just like saying the word porn. Didn't want anyone to take offence.)

In my opinion, a shorter "warning" word would be better than a long string like "WARNING: ADULT THEME" - maybe drop the word warning and just write "ADULT THEME?"

I like the idea of an adult themed icon to use but am afraid it could be easily overlooked by folks, I would think having ADULT somewhere in the title would make it idiot proof.

It kinda makes me sad that we even have to have this discussion, these boards are so well moderated and I have never seen anything that I would consider so offensive that I would be prompted to write a moderator and complain. Variety and input from all types of art is what true art is about in my opinion...

I think you're being really fair and proactive, Leah the warning should be enough
