Oh you guys are on the ball! I'll prolly be sending right at the deadline. I put this swap on hold to knock out a baby shower present for my cousin, but pretty soon I'll be back to crafting!

I'm probably going to send close to the deadline, too.  I've been alternating between this crafting for this swap and making gifts for Christmas.  So far, I have about 6 things done and I'm about 40% done with another.  I need to start making some quicker items, too! Tongue

I'm saw my first Christmas commercial of the season last night!  It was a walmart one (I think) where they cashiers are lighting up their lane lights to the beat of Christmas music.  I told my husband to wait before fast forwarding through the commercials  Grin

I've been knitting like a mad woman to finish a blanket for my cousin.... by FRIDAY. GAH. I only have to things completely done because I prefer to work on a bunch of things at once... so I have like ten WIPs right now!

Ahhh crafting for Christmas... I need to start that too!

I passed a house down the road the day after Halloween and they already had Christmas decorations out in the yard. Talk about rushing throught the holidays. Stores started putting up Christmas items on Halloween weekend too. What ever happened to waiting until Thanksgiving weekend and watching Santa arrive at the end of the parade to start the season? Wow. It all feels so commercial and rushed anymore. That's why I'm making as many home made items as I can. I may even hit someof the craft fairs.

yeah, they do start with the christmas stuff earlier and earlier and while I don't decorate until the weekend after Thanksgiving, I sure do get all squeeley with my Mom when we start seeing Chistmas stuff in the stores!  Smiley

With regular stores it really bothers me when they have x-mas stuff out before Halloween, but not with craft stores.  I figure they NEED to put stuff out early, because people have to have time to make the stuff.  I know I started making gifts in May (but we're trying for an all-handmade christmas, so it takes a while!).

When I opened my newspaper this morning, all the store adds had "christmas toy catalogs" in them...or "best prices of the season on christmas decorations!" on the fronts...  that seems pretty excessive.  I'm so glad that me and my hubby decided to buy our son only one special gift this year, everything else is handmade.

Yeah, I definitely like to enjoy October for fall & halloween and then I like to be eased on into Christmas throughout November and then once Thanksgiving is over, BAM!  Bring it on!  lol
I agree, crafts stores have a good reason to get a jump start on these things though.

Speaking of craft stores, I just returned from a shopping excursion and bought what I need to make a large for Superhooker and I found a fun little goody to through in the box too  Grin

Sucks I can't work on anything though.  I have to leave in a few minutes for a 13-year old friend of the family's surprise bday party at the horse stables that her horse is kept.  Should be fun though and I haven't seen these folks in a while so I'm anxious... Plus free chili and beer!  w00t!   Cheesy  And horse rides if I so choose too  Smiley

Gotta hand it to them that they are actually using the word "Christmas" instead of "holidays".  I get so disgusted with the stores anymore.  They rarely use the word Christmas anymore.

Oreos are now "Winter" Oreos with Skates on them. VERY politically correct.

On the Crafting front, I spent all afternoon working on ___________ and it turned out pretty good. Yippee!
