My reality check just BOUNCED!

« on: September 04, 2008 03:36:03 PM »

So Labor day weekend was the last day of the Bristol Renaissance Fair and I had made some stuff for my husband and I to wear to it.  I started on these at about 6pm Friday so we could wear them when we left at 7 am Saturday.

I made the shirt and coat for my husband and the shirt, overcoat, skirt, underskirt, head wrap, and purse/pouch for myself.

that's my dad in the middle (Mom made dads vest and shirt)

Mom and I with Miss Ettie, one of the performers at the fair (mom made her own outfit)

I never thought to take pictures, so luckily mom had a couple for me to use.

Thanks for looking
Shade:)

Oh, huzzah for Miss Ettie! She's always so cheerful.

Your costumes look absolutely fantastic! I especially love your overcoat, and your husband's coat.

I love the costumes.  I tend to dream about the renaissance era.  Id love to live in that era, the clothes, the way they lived.  Oh sure I wouldnt want to live that way forever, i mean technology, and health services wise it wouldnt like it.  But wouldnt it be nice to escape this downward spiral of society that we now live in.

Want to learn to crochet or knit?  I have a ton of extra crochet hooks & circular knitting needles.  Will throw in some pattern books and yarn for anyone interested in a swap.

Thank you everyone!  I am happy with the way they turned out.

I wish I weren't a procrastinator and had spent more than 8 hours on these outfits.  And my only other issue is they don't make patterns large enough for me in this pattern, so I had to figure out how to add about 6 dress sizes onto the largest pattern size I could find.  (Yes I am a very full figured gal.

Thank you again your your comments,
Shade:)
