Thanks for all the great comments! I've been trapped away from the computer for days recovering from a scratched retina, so this was a great welcome back.

Those are really cute. If you wanted to handle them less, maybe next time just stick the wire through the clay as if it were a bead and then bake with the wire in?

Those are super cute...do you think they're "extreme weather" friendly?  We have crazy storms here in the spring & brutally hot summers.  I've been trying to think of a cute way to do cute plant markers, but I don't want them to die in the sun.  I got these copper ones you write on & I used a Sharpie but the weather took the writing off.

I've had mine in action for over a year now, and they look exactly the same. The polymer clay cleans up with soap and water, and the armature wire is made to go under wet clay so there doesn't seem to be any rust issues.

I live in San Diego so I don't get huge temperature fluctuations, but it is really humid here and gets quite hot without any problems. I imagine they might crack if you left them outside to freeze through the winter, but maybe not. All I can really say is so far so good!
