good for you! I'd include a note, but keep it short. No need to explain the problem to him; he knows what he did. But he still gets to keep his money, doesn't he? Paypal covers it or something? I seem to remember it happening that way, which i find unpleasant. It'd be like you fighting so hard against him, but he still gets to keep his money.

Oh well, hurray for refunds!

Have you even been able to leave feedback on Etsy yet???

Nope! I sent another inquiry earlier today asking if they had found anything out yet.

I put a note in the padded envelope that said "I have filed a request via my credit card company for a refund for this item, and to ensure I receive my refund I am returning the item to you. I have taken these actions because the bag was not as I agreed upon through Etsy/Alchemy (pleather/pvc patent leather, for one thing).

Michelle".

I'll be sending it out tomorrow.

olive_juice: I'm actually not too sure, because when I was speaking to the customer service rep on the phone, I thought he said something about getting the money from the guy's checking account. But I'm not too sure 'cause it was only mentioned in passing and the rep. had kind of a thick accent. It'd give me a some satisfaction though if that was the case Tongue

eek this is terrible. I just read pretty much all 35 pages, and actually laughed out loud at the second bag he sent.  I don't understand how after all the things you've done to get your money back, it hasn't been returned.  You didn't get the item you paid for so that right there should be enough to get your money back!

Its sad that there are people that can do things like this to nice people and steal their money =[

I'm probably being paranoid, but.....  I think you should take a picture of it in the envelope and definitely do delivery confirmation.

They said D.C. is required, but yeah I took a picture of it in the envelope and will probably take a picture of it stamped at the post office. This letter is going to have more pictures than words, I think Tongue

wow this was a lot of reading ... *just read through the 35 pages*
1. Yes that bags not what you wanted
2. are 14 year olds so bad than? Tongue *just goofing*
3. I am really hoping whit all those actions you took that you are getting a refund.
I would have given it up a long time ago, but than again, I have only made a couple online purchases, which were all good.
I really wish you the best !!!
And I think it's really sweet of odd_addict (I think it was, a long pages ago ...)
to send you that bag, and I hopes it made you a bit happier Smiley

Btw I really would *insert a bad thing of choice* that seller !!

awww, 14 year olds aren't so bad Wink In fact, if I was 14 years old and saw the second bag somewhere, without the iron on or the flower applique, for $10-15 I probably would have got it. I probably would have got it up until I was 16 or 17 actually Tongue Just not what I wanted now and def not for $55!!

I just read through this whole thread and I am shocked at how this guy has treated you! Those bags were NOTHING like the inspiration bag, he lied to you, and he just seemed so incredibly rude.

I hope you get the refund situation with Paypal sorted out soon! Smiley

And here is what you do next: give me that fucker's address so I can go break his knees and remove his organs. Wink

If I had the skill to do it, I would totally join the "send sapphire a NICE bag" movement. But I guess the sentiment will just have to be enough...for now.
