Okay so my room is aqua with red accents, and I really wanted a red chest of drawers. After much frustration trying to sand and paint an old dresser, I decided to cut my losses and just get a new one. This one http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/40053930 matches my bed but I find it waaaaaaay too boring. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can make it prettier/more interesting/more red?
Painting is probably not an option, as I don't think the glossy finish would take paint well anyway. Maybe I could mod podge some pretty scrapbook paper or such to the front of the drawers? Would the mod podge adhere well to the finish? OR maybe I could cut a pattern out of red contact paper and stick it on, in which case would peeling be an issue?
I know I have a lot of questions but if anyone could help me out at all I would really appreciate it!

I think it would take paint if you sanded it real well, then primed it.

Another option would be to make false drawer fronts from wood or foamcore or old election signs, then paint or cover that with fabric and VELCRO it on.  You could change out your drawer fronts seasonally, how cool is that?

Wow that is pretty cool, I might just try it. Thanks!
