This is my first challenge, and I don't know if this qualifies, but I decided to go with it.

My boyfriend is a type one diabetic, so he has to take a shot of insulin after he eats. He was sick of running home since he's a guy and has no convenient way of carrying his insulin pen, so I now carry some for him. And I needed a nifty little cozy for the pen and the needle tops, so I decided to make one for the challenge. I made this last night, and I baked the polymer clay button this morning. This was my first use of button holes, and I messed up a little, but I think it turned out good.

I know the button so doesn't match the fabric, but I never match, so it fit me^^
Thanks for looking!! ^^

SO CUTE!  I would love one of these for my insulin pens... the top is forever falling off in my purse.  Great idea!

Great idea!  Carrying an insulin pen was such a pain in the neck.  Now that I have a pump I don't have to worry about it, but when I did that would have been great!  It's much nicer than the store bought one I had.

It's so much fun to do things to add sparkle to your diabetes supplies! I got a pump skin (its like a cell phone cover for your pump) and its amazing Cheesy

It's very cool. And why do the girlfriends always have to carry the crap? My friend Ala always has a stash of her boyfriend's cystic fibrosis drugs in her bag (he's only been taking them three times a day EVERY SINGLE DAY OF HIS LIFE, why should he remember to put them in his bag?). But the bit that really gets my attention is the button - it looks like a like a peppermint! A little bit ironic?

That was clever to make a candy button fpr irony.

Hmmm....I wonder if my dad would remember his meter (and use it!) on the next visit if I made him a coxy to carry it in.  (He's type 2, controlled with diet, so he makes a lot of excuses about how he doesn't need to test all the time if he's eating well...but then he's surprised on vacation when three bad meals in a row add up to astronomical sugar levels, unnoticed until then since he isn't testing!)

But I digress...I love that you made him something manly that would be useful if he needs to carry it himself on a day when you've got separate plans.

The button is supposed to look like a peppermint, only a few people picked up on that though, but that's probably because I'm new to polymer clay. XD

Haha I guess I didn't catch that... but usually I eat whatever I like, so thats probably why (of course I take my insulin for it, though) :]

The bf can eat whatever and take insulin, and he has. But we're carb counting because his numbers have been getting higher and higher and he takes more and more insulin. So to prevent health problems later, we've started eating healthier.
