question!: do you have any problems with the yarn or pillow stuffing in the microwave? Also, outer material? I was thinking of tearing apart a t-shirt...

I dunno much about it all since this is the first/only one I've ever made. Most tutorials on the web for heat therapy bags show them as covers. Like you would make a bag filled with rice or buckwheat or whatever and it would have a removable cover you could wash as needed. I figure mine won't be out that often so hopefully won't get as dirty. I know I've seen the covers in satin before but I don't personally know how that would go. I wouldn't think there'd be a problem with it though.... Anyone else know for sure?

Nope, no problems so far. I heat it on a very low setting multiple times so I'm sure that helps. Like I'll do it for 10 second intervals up to a minute or so total to get the warmth that I like. I've used this same stuffing in the oven before at much higher temps for longer (polymer clay projects) and it comes through like a champ. Oh... and the outer material I used is a cotton blend used for dressier men's button-up shirts. It's thicker weight than a t-shirt but I don't think there'd be any huge problems with using that. The rice might be more "bumpier" though but that's all I can think of.

My only issue is making sure I clean up my husband's mess from re-heating soup prior to microwaving. Smiley

My hubby saw the little pic on the main page and goes "Is that what I think it is?" He was so shocked. lol.
I was like" Yeah people on craftster do that stuff all the time." I'm obviously more cultured than he is. At least when it comes to crafts! lol
Anyways what a clever use of something like the uterus. Smiley great idea.
