If you combine this:

with this:

you get this:

                                               A FISHING POLE COZY!

We often go camping with friends who have all the latest gadgets and one day while out fishing, the husband pulled out his latest purchase which was a hard shelled case for his fishing pole.  Meanwhile, we came along with just our poles.  When we got home, my hubby and I were discussing what we could do to carry our fishing rods better and I said I could come up with a fabric carrying case.  I took each of our fishing rods, laid them on paper and drew around them.  Then I cut out fabric a little wider and longer than the pattern and sewed them up.  Worked great!

When I was reading about this challenge, I figured this would work.  Leah had written:  In my opinion, it should be form fitting to the object you are covering (cozying?), and above all it should be fun and silly and quite frankly kinda useless.

Well, this is form fitting and fun and silly:

you try watching this material when you're bouncing over waves

and kinda useless when your sons decide they need longer poles shortly after you custom made cozies for their other poles  Grin

Love it! It would help keep the lines from tangling all over when the poles are all stacked together!

Why doesn't evolution work with embroidery kits?

Not so ironic as it is functional and necessary!!!  My line always gets tangly whenever I transport my rod and reel, one of these would have saved me so much grief!

Really good idea!!

Would be especially ironic if the treble hook I leave on my line snagged the material on the inside and the only way I could get the pole out would be to cut it out  Roll Eyes...still, it's a good idea!
