So when I read about this challenge and saw the theme was cozies with irony, one cozy immediately came to mind. What needs a cozy more than a big manly axe? Well, I couldn't think of anything. So I grabbed my needles and got clicking. Here's what I came up with:

Close up:

The before shot (Yay, rusty metal)

Let me say that my inspiration for this is my love for World of Warcraft and this WoW comic:

Headline: Everyone has special talents. For example, here is Yarnmaster Graal, the High Knitter of Ogrimmar.
Orc #1: What is this? What are you giving me?
Orc #2: It's an axe cozy. You put it over your axe.
Orc #1: Yeah, I don't see that happening. Ever.

I definitely think pink with some lacy trim would have been amazing. Especially if you were able to get a big burly lumberjack to model it for you!

Sweet Cheesy

You know, this could become functional with very little modification. Just attach a strip of thick leather or a piece of wood/plastic with a groove inside, and it'll make transporting the axe safer, and protect the blade from becoming dull (though for an axe, dulling isn't such a big problem as for a knife). The "axe cosies" are usually made of leather or plastic, but this is more of a statement and the shaping is perfect.

(Of course making it functional would lose the irony - now the cosy doesn't actually protect anything. But you know, after the challenge is finished.)
