im using a straight stitch on my machine. im just sewing n the first strips together for a quilted dog bandana. the back of the fabric you can see the "chain" now. can you tell me what i have done to my machine? i just rethreaded the dang thing but it does not seem to help....sorry this is my first sewing attempt so im still dumb as dirt lol. thanks alot! Shocked

dont think this matters but its a brother cs-6000.

I'm not an expert but it sounds like a tension issue with your bobbin, too loose.  Anyone know for sure?

Actually it's probably the top thread that's too loose. Thread the machine with 2 different colors of thread & test. If it doesn't do the loose stitches on the test fabric it had probably jumped out of the tensioner when you were sewing before.

Ideally, you should only see top thread on top & bottom thread on bottom. I tend to use random bobbins so I always have the bottom thread just a hair tighter allowing the top thread to show the tiniest dots of it's color on the bottom.
