I sleep with scissors eye cozy

Yes I am very brave woman!!  I sleep with my scissors.
I have never quilted a thing in my life, until now!!!   

Being a night crafter, I sleep during the day.  So my entry is pretty useful.



The making of pics:

Click that link over there <<<<<  and to get one of these T-shirts!!!  I shrank this pic to various sizes to gauge perfect size for my liquid POLYMER CLAY with glitter added baked puddle.

I printed my pic on paper, cut out and trace around with sharpie onto my "puddle".  Yes I am about to QUILT with polymer clay!!!

Using super thin bead needle and one strand of thread I stitched to some snow white (I know the pic is looking more purple-ish) recycled fabric.  The fabric is from a girdle that never did fit from long ago.  I could not get decent cut and stitched skull nostrils, so out came the bugle beads.

I sewed my beads on.  With a diff color puddle left over, I stitched it first under the ZZZ's just like the skull and scissors.

This pic should really go before the previous pic, but I layered the front with quilt batting, black felt, and another white layer for back.  I straight stitched all the way around before adding the ribbon edge (hoping I am quilting correctly here?)  With my layers stitched, I embelished the letter beads with black seed beads.  I hand stitched with black thread around all the polymer clay edge stitches through all the layers.

I hand stitched everything.  Doubled thin elastic strips, so cozy my sleep mask is!! 
Not one speck of light shows through, very very happy I am with this!!

Wow! I cannot believe how cool this is and all those really cool details!
I never knew you could sew clay! This is really beautiful and I love the recyling part of it!
I bet that does feel cozy to sleep with - my husband sleeps with the tv on so I have to sleep with a mask also!

I kind of want to make one just because this is so awesome.
But I dont like complete darkness when i sleep so it'd be a bit pointless.
Well done with quilting the clay, thats wicked.

Sure I will share suganspyyce!!  I mixed translucent liquid sculpey with some glitter and drops of ink.  Actually the puddle I used for this was puddle rejects from using too much ink.  I am not sure if my ink is alcohol based or not.  But they left lots and lots of bubbles and looked lava-ish on the side not touching the glass.   OoPS let me finish......
I used my finger to smear my mixture onto my scrap glass (broken picture frame glass) and baked at 280 degrees for 15 minutes.  After baking, start peeling off like sticker from the edge.  They make wonderful window clings!!  The side touching the glass will look very glossy.  They have a vinyl feel.  And are very bendable!!  And as I have learned very stitchable!

Finally I am no longer worried that I am the only one who sleeps with scissors! I don't do it on purpose, I just have so many scissors and so little space...

I can't believe you sewed(?) clay! I thought it was vinyl 'til I read the description. It's amazing.

OMG... I love it... I received a sleeping mask from a swap partner and I use it nightly... I cannot live without it. This is the best sleeping mask ever... great job!!!!
