I realize my DD is not an inanimate object, but sleeping is as close as she ever comes to being still, so in my crazy mind this project qualifies for the challenge.  I made the Kozy (better known as a sleepmat) for her to take to kindergarten for naptime.

I made it out of an old crib sheet, a recycled jean skirt of mine and a piece of purple fabric I've had laying around for awhile.

She loves it & loves even more that no one else in her class has one like it.

Here it is all rolled up for the trip to school.

That is so cool!  When I have kids, I'm definitely going to make those for them.

Cool sleeping bag!
I could use your entry with my entry.  I see we both think of sleep when we hear cozy? lol

I am not obsessed with Perty Thangs, I am disciplined...

I have alot to share, all you gotta do is ask.

Crochet, x-stitch, Ribbon embroidery, plastic canvas, beadwork, polymer clay, wire work, and now TATTING!!  Please help me learn to knit, then I might be complete.

I will bet she is the envy of all her classmates, especially with a built in pillow and a blanket over the top.

I remember when I was in kindergarten only having a ratty old rug and even my son didn't like naps because they only had a thin padded mat.  Kids nap better with a pillow an blanket and as heat goes up, it always is colder on the floor.

Thanks for the idea; next time somebody I know that has a child going into kindergarten, I think I will make them a cozy like yours too.

I didn't have a pattern.  I looked at one that my sister's kids had and then made this one a little taller to fit my DD.  I had the hardest time figuring out what to back it with that would stand up to being wiggled around on the floor everyday & then I remembered the skirt that I refused to throw away because I KNEW I'd use it one day.

I thought your eye cozy was way cute, but I'd hate to give my little craft loving DD any ideas - she would totally try to sleep with her scissors!

Off-topic, but your daughter looks like a miniature version of the actress Sarah Paulson.
