Here's all the ami awesomeness I got from missmoppet!  I love all of it!!  Thank you so much for all the goodies!  Usually, I post a ton of pics, but I was able to fit it all in one!  I kinda like when that happens! Tongue Roll Eyes

Oh, and do any of you know how to make that bone?  Missmoppet said she got it from a Japanese craft book and chart/graphs are not really my thing!  It would be much appreciated!

THANK YOU MISSMOPPET!!!!!

I'm finished and I sent my amigurumi off to its final destination.  He'll have a new home at Pink-Josy's.

Im Sew Sillys package has arrived, and Im so appreciative of the consideration and care she put into what she made for me.  Taking her cue from the imaginary animals I listed dragon, gryphon, Pegasus and inspiration from an old pop song, she combined them all and made a One Eyed, One Eared, Flying Purple People Eater:

She said this was the first amigurumi she made that wasn't a vegetable, and she came up with the pattern herself.  There are so many details on this guy that are hard to capture in a picture, in part because of the fuzzy (and oh so soft) yarn, so Im posting several to try and help you see everything.  Hes got little skinny arms with end-of-yarn claws, three chained loop talons on each leg, long strand whisker-y bits at the chin and jaw, a little white horn th I think is at curls at the end, and one ear stands up while the other flops over (dont know if this last was intentional but its very cute...and not just because my dogs ears do the exact same thing!)

I think the single most impressive thing ISS did is that not only does the PPE have separate and articulated jaws, the two parts are convex/concave-ly curved like real mouths are:

ISS even sent along three purple people for food, but they and the PPE seem to have bonded during the trip from Mississippi to California as he seems to enjoy cuddling with them and letting them climb on him:

Finally, a very personal note here.  My mother, who passed away in January of this year, was always "finding" me toys, knicknacks, tchockes, etc.  A lot of them were dragons (or dinosaurs, because she couldnt always tell the difference), and the sweet little creature Val created looks exactly like something I can picture Mom handing to me and saying, I just had to get it for you, so he has an extra special place in my heart.

Waterbaby, I am so glad you like your PPE Smiley

I am so very sorry for your loss.
I hope the PPE brings back wonderful memories for you. Your mom sounds like she was a jewel.

Mr PPE was fun to make for you and i was hoping you liked soft fuzzy fur cause i couldnt resist using it. IT just seemed to match his character I was trying for Smiley Also glad that he and the purple people became friends and he didnt eat them on the way -haha

I didn't give him a name, figured his new owner would want to do that  Wink You will have to let me know what you come up with.

Cheers!
