I found this pattern at the thrift store for $.25 yesterday. The pattern was already cut & there was only 1/2. So I assumed the 2nd 1/2 was identical to 1st. 1/2 the instructions were missing too --- without further ado! My Chinese Take Out Box sewing kit.

The inside-

I'm going to put a snap on the end of the ribbon to better hold my scissors. I didn't want to break out the hammer late at night & wake the kids!

The outside

I need to put a button or felt flower on the top of the box as I left a little marking that needs to be covered. Other than that - I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

I love it you're very clever and it's a very nice little box.
do you think you can share your half pattern and give us a small tut that would be really nice.

Neato!! Does it open completely flat like the actual boxes?

It fold out almost completely flat. There are 4 darts in the corners that keep it from going all the way down.

I'll scan the 1/2 pattern soon & get it posted with some step by steps instructions. I'm sorry I didn't take photos along the way. Maybe it's an excuse to make another one! Wink

And thanks for the compliments. I really like it.
