being a very DIY family our kitchen just HAD to be very...individual.

my mum did the tiling.it goes around the kitchen half of the room(we have a breakfast bar in the middle and use the other half as dining room/drum,bass and guitar room)

my brother did a nice little painting of his friend from college(high school ot americans) 'crab eyes'

my dad is forgetting stuff now he is middle aged(lol) and so is the rest of the family. to remedy this me and my mum took a blackboard and made a boarder from lentils, beans and pasta to make it 'kitcheny'.

a close-up of the boarder.

thanks for looking!

Is that a clock set into a cabinet door?  I'd like to see a better pic of that!  What a neat idea - especially if you are short on wall space.

Feel free to use the idea!  I think it would be very cool, and depending on what you use for the numbers, you could change them out.  Maybe velcro on the back of felt?  My DH would probably faint if I drilled through a kitchen cabinet - I think I'll try to scout out something else to try this on - I know I already have a clock kit in my stash (somewhere).
