so my 16th birthday was about a week ago, and this saturday i took my friends to Upstairs on the Square for some afternoon tea in town.
(for those of you who live near boston, here's a shameless plug for the Boston TeaCup)

more importantly, i realized i had nothing to wear the night before.  this idea for a dress had been bumping around in my head for a while, and i had a length of blue drape-happy cotton.
hence my tube/xmas bow/party dress.  i didn't have time for straps, but i might add stuff in for support to make it a better strapless dress.

the dress took about 4-5 hours (while watching buffy Roll Eyes).  i really like how it turned out.  i wore brown boots with it so it was more casual, but it could easily be dressed up with some pearls and sparkly flats.

questions?  comments?

I bet it was lovely with those brown boots! Don't you just love boots with dresses??

Anyway, great job. Very simple and cute.... I love the little bow/ruche in the front. It looks very good on you. And happy late birthday.... hope you had a wonderful time!!  Grin

Very pretty... the ruching accentuates how thin you are.
