Usually when I begin a knitting projects it takes me forever to finish. This hat was so much fun to knit that I just couldn't stop knitting.
This one is going to be so comfy in the winter.

I was asked for the pattern by a few of you. I have to say that I never even read a knitting pattern in English so translating one was twice as hard. I hope that the pattern would be understandable although I probably made a million mistakes.
Let me know how I can improve it (mistakes I made, terms I invented etc.) and I will correct the pattern.

Cast on 78 stiches (I think this size is for kids, I casted on 104 stiches so it would fit).

Alternate until you have 9 cm. Knit garter stich until you have a total of 14 cm  (9cm alt and 5cm garter).

K2tog knit 11, repeat until the end of the row.
Knit a row.
K2tog knit 10, repeat until the end of the row.
Knit a row.
K2tog knit 9, repeat until the end of the row.
Knit a row.
K2tog knit 8, repeat until the end of the row.

Knit 23 rows.

K2tog knit 7, repeat until the end of the row.
Knit 19 rows.
K2tog knit 6, repeat until the end of the row.
Knit 19 rows.
K2tog knit 5, repeat until the end of the row.
Knit 19 rows.
K2tog knit 4, repeat until the end of the row.
Knit 19 rows.
K2tog knit 3, repeat until the end of the row.
Knit 19 rows.
K2tog knit 2, repeat until the end of the row.
Knit 19 rows.
K2tog knit 1, repeat until the end of the row.
Knit 10 rows.
K2tog until the end of the row, repeat until you are left with 3 stiches. Finish with I-cord.

Enjoy Smiley

That is a great hat. Did you use a pattern, or did you just wing it? I would love to make this one. My husband asked me to make him a hat like that when I started knitting, but it was a rather sad attempt, as it was only my second project and I didn't have a pattern.

That hat is awesome!  It actually just gave me a great idea to start knitting one for my son who's gonna be Link from Legend of Zelda for Halloween!

Thanks for commenting. It's fun to hear nice responses.

I did use a pattern. If you are serious about making it then PM me and I'll translate it to English for you or seek a similar pattern which is already in English.

Love the hat.  What size needles did you use?  Is that worsted yarn?
